ASH Stables is going to offer a Working Student Program. We believe it is important that kids have
responsibity in a structured environment and there is no better place then the barn, where you know your kid is safe and where your kid is.
The way it works:
- Kids help work the farm, such as grain, hay, re-pick stalls, switch horses in & out from turn-out, tack up horses, help with daily am or pm routine
- They will work 2 to 3 hour blocks on their assigned days
- For every six hours worked, they get a free lesson - for every free lesson they need to take a paid lesson - no exceptions
- It is like a real job, we understand that kids/families have stuff going on. We just ask that you be courteous enough to let us know in plenty of time so we can arrange for somebody to cover the hours.
- We only allow two working students at anytime, unless their is a particular reason. This is to avoid social hour during their work hours. !!!THIS TO KEEP EVERYBODY SAFE!!! Please do not have any of your friends hang around as it just causes problems.
Requirements:
- Needs to be current student
- Needs to be older than 12 or a parent needs to be present
- Needs to show responsibility and trust worthyness
We understand that kids are kids, but we do not tolerate social hour while they are working. We have valuable a
nimals as well as they are large animals that need to be treated with the according respect.
If you are interested, please contact us. There is only going to be limited space available and management reserve
the right to make the final decision as to who can join the program.
